The annual Sunday Times “Best Places to Live in Britain” guide has crowned Winchester in Hampshire the overall winner for 2016.   The study bases its results on a wide variety of factors including quality of life, crime rates, house prices and school performance.   This year’s other regional winners were:

Fitzrovia, central London

Ledbury, Herefordshire

Harrogate, North Yorkshire

Ballycastle, County Antrim

Whalley, Lancashire

Stockbridge, Edinburgh

Midhurst, West Sussex

Falmouth, Cornwall
