My Year In Review: Property Buying Agent Looks Back

At Buying Agent Partnership, we love taking on new agents into our property finding family! Earlier this year, we were delighted to welcome Lee Heywood as our new Director for Devon and Cornwall. Devon born and raised in both Devon and Cornwall, Lee has extensive experience in living and working in our beautiful Southern English counties over the years and has been an asset already during his time in the business. Lee looks back at his year, both before and after joining Buying Agent Partnership as our Director for Devon & Cornwall!

About Lee:

Lee joined Buying Agent Partnership back in January with an established history as an estate agent across Devon & Cornwall. Having begun his work as a Trainee Estate Agent in the South, Lee found that his passion for property has taken him from strength to strength, and to running his own branch in West Devon. After several years working in that position, and gaining vital experience and first-hand knowledge of the region Lee joined Buying Agent Partnership in January of this year as the Director for Devon & Cornwall.

Lee’s passion for Devon and Cornwall comes from a lifetime of love.

Lee says: ‘Having spent all my life traveling between both Devon & Cornwall, I certainly don’t have any plans to stop! I was born and raised in Devon, but as the majority of my family lived in Cornwall we were often split between the two, especially during the holidays. My property career began in North Cornwall where I started as a Trainee Estate Agent, and after several years working through the ranks, I made the inevitable ‘hop’ back over the border again to manage my own office back in Devon covering a lot of the North and West, while living in the South! I feel incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to explore a lot of these beautiful counties, and since the beginning of this year, as Director of Devon & Cornwall for Buying Agent Partnership, I have thoroughly enjoyed finding our clients their perfect properties across the region.

What have you enjoyed about your first year with Buying Agent Partnership?

Lee says:

‘Most definitely it has been finding my clients their dream homes by sourcing off-market opportunities which they simply would not have found for themselves. Secondly I would say still achieving great results for clients in a strange and difficult time has been very rewarding. I helped a client move from overseas straight after the first lockdown which took a lot of communication and skill with timings, something that was certainly aided with help from Buying Agent Partnership’s contacts within the industry. I was initially attracted to Buying Agent Partnership as they have a fantastic track record with over 30 years’ experience in finding clients their perfect homes. Whether our clients are searching from the UK or overseas, the wide range of services Buying Agent Partnership offers means we can tailor our service to meet our client’s needs. I feel the need for a buying agent is growing rapidly and needed now more than ever. Having met many people over the years who haven’t had the necessary support to make truly informed property choices, here at Buying Agent Partnership, we offer clients the one-on-one support of a professional who can ensure that they are making an informed decision on the biggest asset many people will ever own. We negotiate the best possible price, take full control of the process from start to finish and find their new address, with minimum stress!’

What do you think attracts people to properties in Devon & Cornwall?

Lee says:

‘Perhaps unsurprisingly, Devon & Cornwall remain extremely popular areas for property finding services, in part thanks to the outstanding natural beauty of the regions. Devon and Cornwall have transport links to both London and the North of England via train, plane or car. In addition to these networks, however, both regions have a sought-after tranquility, with peaceful coastline and countryside to suit everyone. Famous for the beauty of their small villages and bustling market towns, these regions additionally have busier and more built-up areas like Exeter, Plymouth and Truro. Though these are the key commercial towns, there are plenty of places in the South with enough diversity in landscape and features to ensure there’s something for everyone!’

Thanks, Lee!
