Property in Suffolk
The north Norfolk coast’s wide open beaches are certainly different to Suffolk’s rockier coastal cliffs but but it’s true that both are a truly stunning place to live, and popular with retirees and second home owners. Inland Norfolk and North Suffolk are a great place to look for buyers searching for farmsteads and acreage at affordable prices, within easy reach of Norwich’s old streets of restaurants, upmarket boutiques and impressive leisure facilities.
Both South Suffolk and North Essex have a sleepy feel and are rich in period houses, ancient villages and a good line in cosy pubs and great restaurants, being somewhat of a culinary hotspot these days. Bury St Edmunds is the standout town, blending facilities beyond its size with medieval streets and timbered buildings, whilst Stansted offers a quick and easy air hub for Europe. South Essex has a busier, more built-up feel, with towns like Brentwood proving extremely popular with commuters taking advantage of the excellent (and fast!) train links to Liverpool Street.
